  1. If I know I cannot be home, can I authorize a doorman or neighbor to accept my order?
    While we do recommend that you be home to accept your order, we will be more than happy to leave your order with an approved neighbor or doorman. Please be sure to inform your trusted person of the delivery day and time, make the necessary payment arrangements, and make them aware of the storage requirements of your delivery.
     
    If you choose to have someone other than you accept your order, please include all alternate directions in the "special instructions" part of the checkout process.

    We are located in Highland, Michigan. Our delivery service is available to any person who lives in Oakland County Michigan. [top]

  3. I don't live in the delivery area! Can I still order?

    Please contact us to see if we have the ability to arrange a special delivery for you. The prices reflected on our site are for local shoppers only and do not reflect the prices of nationally shipped items.

    If you are outside of our local delivery area, we are happy to ship anything you'd like to any destination. Please note: Shipping costs are based on current USPS, UPS, or FedEx rates -- the $9.95 shipping price does not apply to orders that are mailed.

    Snook's Home Delivery is the newest method of shopping at Snook's Butcher Shoppe. We have created an online ordering service and paired it with convenient home delivery so that you have one less thing to worry about! Snook's Home Delivery Service operates directly out of our brick and mortar location in Highland, MI. [top]

  5. Can several families place an order together?
    Absolutely! We think this is a great idea! By placing your order together and having ONE drop off point, you and your co-orderers save money. We charge $9.95 per HOME we deliver to, not per PERSON. So, if you know 10 people who want to order together, you will basically each pay $1 to have it delivered. [top]

  6. Can I feel safe ordering meat, poultry and seafood online?
    Yes, you certainly can. Snook's Butcher Shoppe is know for selling only the finest quality meat, poultry and seafood. Each item you order is freshly cut to your specifications, just as if you were shopping in our actual store. From the time your order is processes to the time it is delivered to your door, we take the utmost care and caution in bringing our products to your family. [top]

  8. Does Snook's Butcher Shoppe require me to give credit card information when I order?
    No. We have chosen to accept payment upon delivery, and therefore do not require you to enter or provide credit card information during the ordering process. We feel this is the best way to protect you against security issues associated with credit cards. When we arrive at your home with your order, you may select to use a credit card, debit card or cash to pay for your order. All credit and debit cards are run through our mobile credit card machine that works much like a cell phone. [top]

  9. How do I shop online?
    Shopping at Snook's Butcher Shoppe online is easy! Simply browse our selection, adding items to your cart that you would like to purchase. When finished, simply "checkout" and follow the instructions to submit your order. Its that easy! [top]

  10. Is there a delivery fee?
    Yes. We charge a flat rate of $9.95 per home we delivery to. The fee is reflected in your grand total when ordering.
    A GREAT IDEA: Get together with family, friends and neighbors, pick ONE drop off point for all orders and you still only pay ONE delivery fee of $9.95. This is a great way to drop the delivery cost per family/person!

  11. Should I tip my delivery person?
    No. We do not accept or expect tips. If you would like to let us know you are happy with our service, please send us an email or refer a friend to our service!! [top]

  12. Whate is "Estimate Ordering" and why does Snook's use this method?
    Estimate ordering is exactly what it sounds like - an estimated total of your order. When you place an order with us, your total for each item, as well as the total bill is estimated using the price per pound and an average weight of each item. We choose to use the estimate system because each piece of meat we sell is hand cut, and therefore varies in weight. This system benefits you because you will never pay for more than what you receive.

    24 hours before your scheduled delivery, you will receive an email indicating your ACTUAL and EXACT total. When our delivery person arrives at your home with your order, simply pay that amount with your credit card, debit card or cash.

    Example: You may want a 3# roast that costs $3.59 lb. We would estimate the cost of that roast to be $10.77. When we fill your order, your roast actually weighs 2.99# - making your total $10.73. While the difference is only a few pennies, we believe in only charging you for what you receive.

  13. How can I know my order will be safely transported?
    We know how important it is that your order remains refrigerated at all times. No need to worry!! We deliver each order in a completely insulated and refrigerated delivery vehicle. From the moment your order leaves our store, until it reaches your door, your entire order is kept in a temperature controlled environment to ensure that it arrives fresh. [top]

  14. How does Snook's accept credit cards at the time of delivery?
    We have a special credit card machine that works much like a cell phone -- its completely wireless! That means you can see your credit card being swiped and processed right in front of you, and receive an actual receipt at that time as well! [top]

  15. Is the delivery schedule convenient?
    We strive to make our delivery system convenient for all of our customers.
    • We delivery every day except Monday -- including weekends.
    • We offer dailiy delivery categories of 8-10, 10-noon, 2-4, 4-6, and 6-8pm.
    • By choosing a delivery category, you are letting us know when you'll be home. When we email your actual total, we are typically able to narrow the time even more - to about a half hour time frame.
    During the checkout process, you will be asked to indicate a day and time you would like your delivery. Unless we experience unforseen traffic delays or mechanical problems, we will arrive when we say we will -- its that simple!

  16. Do I have to be home to accept my order?
    Yes, you do --- or at least someone has to be home.

    Because your order is packed fresh (not frozen) and is shipped in a refrigerated vehicle, it is not packaged in an insulated container that would allow us to leave your order at your door. We ask that someone be home to both accept and pay for the order at the time of delivery.

    In the event of a special situation, please contact us directly and we can make the appropriate arrangements to leave your order in a designated place or with a designated neighbor.
